Welcome to Cricket (w)

Open to all, Women's Cricket aims to help everyone improve their game, making memories along the way.

With no trials, everyone is welcome to join women’s cricket, whether you’re a seasoned professional or have never picked up a bat. Our weekly training sessions are structured to be beneficial to all abilities, with extra weekly net sessions for those who wish to improve further. For those more experienced players, MCCU cricket is available to challenge yourself, both with extra training sessions and matches. Regular themed socials are available to all, with social memberships on offer for those who wish to solely partake in our events. Come to our GIAG on the 8th of October to see what we’re all about or send us a message and join a fun, friendly and inclusive society.

Community

Throughout the year, Women’s Cricket aim to encourage all members to get involved with our fundraising opportunities through events such as quiz nights and sponsored event. We encourage our members to make a positive impact on the local community. 2016/17 we successfully raised over £1,200 for charity, while during the COVID-19 lockdown, members took part in the ashes challenge, cumulatively running the distance between the 5 ashes 2019 test grounds. We assist members in getting involved in creating their own fundraising events such as open-mic nights or anything you can think of! This enhances employability and lets you get to know what it is like to be part of the committee.

Insurance

Our student and participant memberships contain a £3 fee to cover Personal Accident Insurance for our members. This is a requirement from the University.
