Welcome to Conservation Volunteers

Welcome to the LUUCV webpage! This society is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors, nature, wildlife and environmental conservation. What's more, membership is FREE!!!

LUUCV acts as a mobile work force, joining various conservation groups for tasks around Leeds, as well as working on our own site at Woodhouse Ridge. All information on our trips and tasks is posted on our Facebook page, so follow us there to keep up-to-date!

Aim

Our aim is to help conserve and maintain the natural environment in the local area; this can involve anything from chopping down invasive trees and planting native species, to creating micro-habitats or maintaining our pond and paths.

We work closely with local organisations such as WRAG, Friends of Meanwood, Friends of the Hollies and the RSPB to conserve and protect greenspaces in and around Leeds! Joining our society will make you more aware your local nature reserves and parks which are often overlooked by students.

Trips away

We also organise trips throughout the year to help out conservation groups across the UK. These included going to the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and Flamborough Head. The trips are both rewarding and a great way to meet new people.

Socials

LUUCV also organise regular social events, which include Otley runs, games nights, environmental film/documentary screenings and nature walks!
